Meadows Manor North, Inc. (Meadows North), has a long-standing tradition
of caring for elderly or dependent residents of our community. Construction
was finished and a private showing scheduled on December 8, 1971, with a
public showing following on December 10th. We were incorporated December
3, 1971, d/b/a Meadows Manor North Retirement and Convalescent Center. Meadows
North became licensed as a 104-bed facility on December 28, 1972 and immediately
commenced admitting guests. The first group admitted were twenty guests transferred
from Meadows Manor East.
Meadows Manor North, Inc., shares the honor with Meadows Manor, Inc., of
being the only two locally owned and operated health care facilities in the
Terre Haute community. Both companies are wholly owned subsidiaries of Sunset
Harbor, Inc. The corporate office of Meadows Manor North, Inc., is located
in the Sycamore Building, 19 South Sixth Street, Terre Haute, Indiana.
The philosophy in the founding and operation of our Company rests on the
basic concept that each person served by our organization is a unique individual
deserving to be cared for as an equal, with dignity, considering all areas
of life, including physical, mental, social, and spiritual.
